Jul 16, 2019· Flat products of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) reinforced Al matrix composites were fabricated using flake powder metallurgy via shiftspeed ball milling and hotrolling. The evolution of CNTs during preparation and the final distribution in the Al matrix were investigated, and the effect of CNT content on mechanical properties were discussed.
To investigate the effect of both ball milling and nano Al 2 O 3 reinforcements on the powders'' mechanical properties, the Al and AlAl 2 O 3 composite ballmilled for 20 h as well as the raw Al powders were separately mounted in carbonfilled phenolic resins. The specimens were polished before microhardness testing.
